The Effectiveness of the Business Simulation Game Global Bike Go in Teaching the Subject of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Sustainable Development Education
Abstract:
This study explores the effectiveness of the Global Bike Go business simulation game in teaching Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and sustainable development education. The research surveyed third-year students after experiencing the game, using Fink’s (2003) six dimensions of learning framework to analyze its impact on knowledge, skills, and learning mindset. Survey results show that students had a positive evaluation of the learning experience through the Global Bike Go simulation, with significant improvements across all dimensions in the model. The average post-game scores were higher than the pre-game scores, with increases ranging from 0.56 to 0.72 points. This demonstrates that the game not only supports effective ERP learning but also fosters systems thinking and the ability to consider long-term consequences—two key components of sustainable development education. Although the game does not directly incorporate sustainability criteria, it shows strong potential in guiding students toward responsible business thinking.
