Tourism industry training in Vietnam

Abstract:

By the method of secondary data analysis, survey the training programs of colleges and universities in the country with training in tourism (780101). Currently, according to the university level, our country has about 90 institutions that are training 2 industry codes (level 4) under the tourism industry code, including: about 20 training institutions with tourism code (7810101), more than 70 training institutions with tourism and travel service management code (7810103). In addition, there are many other codes of tourism-oriented training such as foreign languages, Vietnamese studies, culture studies, geography...According to the 2017 Tourism Law, employees with post-secondary qualifications and graduates of any profession can practice tourism if they are equipped with a short-term training certificate. The above situation shows the necessary and urgent need of human resources involved in serving the development of the tourism economy, which has long been considered a spearhead in the economic structure in our country. Which also shows the difference in qualifications and capacity of the tourism workforce in Vietnam. The article conducts a practical survey from which as a basis to raise the remaining problems in training the tourism industry in Vietnam.
