Trang: This study examines how university career guidance activities are associated with students’ career self-direction, with career decision-making self-efficacy (CDMSE) serving as a mediating mechanism. An exploratory sequential mixed-methods design was conducted at Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics and Finance (UEF), a private university in Vietnam. The qualitative phase involved 15 interviews to refine the activity groupings and measurement instruments and to support interpretation of the quantitative findings. The quantitative phase incoporate PLS-SEM using 525 valid responses from third- and fourth-year students. CDMSE was in positive association with career self-direction (β = .579, p < .001). Of the eight career guidance activity groups, only workshops/seminars and career clubs indicated significant positive associations with CDMSE and significant indirect associations with career self-direction through CDMSE. Career information repositories, coaching/mentoring, field trips, career fairs, internships/practicums, and hackathons/professional competitions were not statistically significant. The findings suggest that universities should prioritize the developmental quality of career guidance by incorporating structured reflection, repeated engagement, and continuous feedback into program design and implementation.

Trang: The research examines the impact of macroeconomic conditions on country-level freight rates in leading automotive component export countries. Secondary data of 240 monthly observations were collected for global macroeconomic variables and ocean freight rate proxies in the US, Japan, South Korea, and Germany. Using Vector autoregression, combined with Granger-causality, impulse response functions and forecast error variance decomposition, the study found varying significant effects from macroeconomic conditions. The study used counterfactual analysis to identify an indirect transmission channel whereby global freight rates dampens macroeconomic effects in South Korea and Japan, while strengthening those in Germany. From these results, recommendations are made for automotive component exporters to adapt to each country’s unique sensitivity to manage increasingly volatile maritime freight costs.

Trang: This study examines the impact of green logistics experience on consumers’ intention to participate in circular practices within Vietnam’s eco-beauty market. Based on the Stimulus- Organism-Response framework, the study tests the effects of green delivery service quality, sustainable fulfillment packaging experience, reverse logistics service support, and circular logistics information transparency, with perceived convenience and perceived circular value as mediators. Data from 529 eco-beauty consumers in Vietnam were analyzed using PLS-SEM. The results indicate that green delivery service quality, sustainable fulfillment packaging experience, and reverse logistics service support significantly enhance perceived convenience, which in turn strengthens the intention to participate in circular practices. Perceived convenience also serves as a mediator in these relationships. However, the value-based pathway is less consistent. Reverse logistics service support does not significantly affect perceived circular value, while the effects related to circular logistics information transparency and perceived circular value run opposite to the expected direction. The findings suggest that circular participation in eco-beauty depends more on reducing consumer effort than on value-based messages alone.

Trang: The two types of classification error in credit scoring carry very different costs: a false negative is far more expensive than a false positive. Using 57,187 loan-level records from a Vietnamese commercial bank, of which 1.23% are non-performing, we evaluate six machine learning models and four voting ensembles. Because missing a non-performing case is the costlier error, we prioritise recall and the F2 score in model selection. We also separate application-time predictors from post-origination information, evaluating each model against only the data available at its decision stage. The behavioural model reaches an AUC of 0.992, reflecting concurrent discrimination driven by accumulated loan tenure rather than early warning. Restricted to origination information, discrimination falls to 0.82-0.87, yet the model still ranks risk usefully, with the riskiest fifth of applicants containing about 72% of non-performing cases. Repayment- related variables provide the most predictive information, and recall-oriented ensembles catch most non-performing borrowers, with recall between 0.91 and 0.93. The practical message is that model evaluation should be tied to the information available at each decision point and to the relative cost of the errors that matter most.
